Review: Gembox

As you know I recently attended the Talk Beauty event here in Auckland. I’ve already raved about it here in a previous blog post.

While I was there we met Kate who presented us with Gembox, a New Zealand based subscription service that offers jewellry and accessories. They have four main categories that you can choose from – Vintage Glam, Classic Chic, Boho Love and Urban Edge. If you don’t know what kind of category you’re in, then there is a fun little online quiz that you can fill in to find out.

I chose the Vintage Glam box which had a lovely pink scarf, some silver box hairclips (I’ve already lost these to my daughter), and some jewelled earrings.

Immediately I fell for the scarf. It’s so light and perfect for our Kiwi summer that we are currently experiencing. Also, it’s pink – my favourite colour. And the animal print? That’s the cherry on the top. I’ve already had lots of compliments on this item.

The hair clips are very well made and heavier than I expected. Although my 3 year old daughter loves them, they’re a bit heavy for her fine hair so ideally these would suit someone a little older.

I wasn’t sure about the earrings as I’m quite a plain accessory person (I’m all about the makeup lol), but I was pleasantly surprised at how much they suited me. Well, you be the judge. Here are some pics below showing me wearing the scarf and earrings.
