MOTD: Tuesday Face

It’s a sunny Spring Tuesday morning here in New Zealand so I decided to brighten my makeup a little.

My favourite primer combo at the moment is Australis Autoprimer which is rich and hydrating. I then add a little Clarins Lisse Minute to my pores. It’s light consistency and works well over other primers. This combo is perfect as you’re coming out of winter and preparing your skin for a season change.

My foundation today is a little darker as I’m slowly changing to my summer warmer tone. I love the coverage and wearability of this Lancome Teint Idole in 05. The smell is a little chemical-like, but I’m willing to forgive this for the way it makes my skin look. Added to that, it’s a warmer tone that my winter neutral,  because in summer my body goes quite golden brown so my face needs to match up a bit more.

My contour today was achieved with LAGirl Cosmetics concealer in Dark Cocoa. It’s super pigmented so you need a very light hand with this one and buff it out quickly otherwise it will set in a brown stripe which is very unflattering lol. I used my Real Techniques buffing brush which still had some foundation residue on it, so it blended everything nicely.

Blush is from MAC – it’s a pretty pink mineralised blush called Sweet Sentiment. It’s was limited edition, but there are some in the permanent range that are similar. If you haven’t tried a mineralised blush from MAC I urge you to do so. They are a lovely formulation and have a slight shimmer that brings your skin to live.

Highlighter is a recent purchase, MAC Global Glow, which I reviewed in a previous blog (and compared against other highlighters). It’s still going strong and I love it.

On my eyes I primed with my Lorac Behind the Scenes primer and then used TheBalm Meet Matt(e) Nude Palette. It was recommended by one of my favourite YT peeps – MouldyFruit. She has enabled me to buy many many things 🙂 I used warm toned browns in the crease  – a mix of Matt Singh and Matt Rosen and deepened with Matt Garcia. On my lid I used Matt Abdul and blended. I applied a smoked out eyeliner with a mix of Matt Hung and Matt Garcia. Finally on my lids I applied sparkle with Australia Metallix creme shadow in Lana Del Grey. It’s so pretty and cost effective. If you haven’t tried these, please do. You won’t regret it.

I applied a wing with my Collection black eyeliner pen and then added lashings of Loreal Volumous mascara.

On my lips is the beautiful Chichi Viva la Diva matte lipstick in Drop Dead Gorgeous. It’s smooth, creamy and pigmented and a must for Spring.

Here is a pic showing it on my face in the morning light and taken on my iphone in the kitchen at work lol 😉

Have a great day everyone.

xx
